The tunnel of a supercar, made by ACS using a particular press molding process resulting from the collaboration with Susta Srl of Villa Zaccheo in Castellalto (Teramo) and Solvay group, was selected among the products exhibited in the pavilions dedicated to the innovation of the JEC, the most important world fair dedicated to composite materials underway in Paris.
The tunnel was manufactured using the one-step manufacturing process called Double Diaphragm Forming (DDF), a technology (patented by Solvay and based on automated processes) that allows the high-rate manufacture of complex parts from a flat blank in less than five minutes.
The companies ACS and Susta, in the context of a collaboration based on a network contract, are currently implementing the process with the intent of adopting this innovative manufacturing technology in their day to day activities.
Thanks to the synergies established between them and with Solvay, the two companies are able to offer national and international customers, in the automotive and non-automotive sectors, the high rate production of complex/fully integrated composite components while guaranteeing quality, accuracy and repeatability.
